Feeling Down? by Heather Lindsey

Have you ever felt like life is purposeless? Or that life is just weighing on you and you feel like there's no way out? You know the scriptures, you know that things are going to get better but at the same time, you're like why God? "I feel trapped in my own life." Have you ever felt like, this test is too big and I don't see the way out. I don't know how God is going to deliver me from this one. If you're feeling this way, I can assure you that this battle has nothing to do your physical environment. The screaming children, the job you hate, the fact that you're tired of being single or broke. This battle is SPIRITUAL. NOT PHYSICAL.

Ephesians 6:12 tells us: "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places."

So, although it may seem like it's people, things and your situation that has you frustrated but I want you to know that you're in the midst of a war. A battle. An attack against your walk with the Lord. This is not the time to recite how much you hate your life, or how frustrated you are with everything. This is the time that you need to go to WAR. This is the time where you need to

Take Refuge by Liz Curtis Higgs

So, how's your holiday season going so far? Tree up? House decorated? Presents starting to stack up? Travel plans made?
Odd how a season meant to bring us so much joy can feel like the world's longest to-do list.
Sigh.
For the next 90 seconds, let's escape from all the craziness and take refuge in the Lord and in His Word. This is what Christmas is all about. This is what matters.
Let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy. Psalm 5:11
Take a deep breath. No, really. Breathe.
Think about the magnificence and the greatness of God.
Consider the many blessings He has poured into your life.
If you feel the urge to smile, do so.
Now you're ready.
Let all who take refuge in you be glad;… Psalm 5:11
Never mind climbing onto Santa's

More Than Conqueror by Abiodun Sotola

Congratulations!
December is a special month. The whole atmosphere changes and you can both see and smell the festivities in the air. Joy permeates everywhere. Thank God you are alive!
The month is significant for all and especially Christians as we celebrate the fact that many  years ago, Our Saviour, Jesus Christ was born into this World. The coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ lifted us from the depth wherein we have fallen to the highest place. And now, we are more than conqueror through Him that love us with an everlasting love.
As we celebrate Christmas and prepare to enter a new year, lets remind ourselves of five areas of life, streams of grace that we need to use to guide our life.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
(John 8:36, Colossians 2:14-15, John 16:33, Isaiah 53:5-10)
The blood of Our Lord Jesus was shed from five major points on the cross
1. The back when He was beaten
2. The head when He was crowned with thorns
3. The hand when He was nailed to the cross.
4. The leg when He was nailed to the cross.
5. The side when He was pierced.
It all means we have complete redemption, total freedom in Him, even right now. We are

Shake Things Up by Kay Ijisesan

(Acts 4:31 NKJV) " And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness."

The response of a natural man to pressure and persecution is discouragement. In fact, the devil wants you to just quit and cave in. This generation is actually known for the weakness of being so quick to quit.
There are forces of the enemy that operate in the realm of the spirit that are assigned to frustrate us and force us to let go of our victories when we are under pressure. However, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God. God has given us the privilege of calling upon Him in the place of prayer. Rather than breaking down, let pressure

Humble Yourselves! Receive the Mercy of God by Rev. John Paul Shea

Sermon by Rev. John Paul Shea
25th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Sept 20, 2015
Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Tucson, AZ

Today's Gospel (Mark 9:30-37) gives us a lesson on humility, which is necessary for
every Christian who wants to develop a right relationship with God.
In today's Gospel, Jesus is teaching His disciples that He is going to suffer. This proclamation of Our Lord about His suffering was the second He made to them about His coming passion.
You may recall in last week's Gospel that Jesus asked his disciples "Who do people say that I am?" Peter was the only disciple to get the answer right. He said,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God." Then Jesus tells Peter in essence, "Yes, you got it right."
He then speaks of the consequences that are to take place because He is the Son of God — that He must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days.
Yet, Peter did not understand. He was thinking like

To be Human or Not to Be: That is the Question About Abortionby Christopher Ziegler

New Jersey Pro-Life Witness

reprinted from Times of Trenton with author's permission
(Editor's Note: Mr. Ziegler wrote this piece in response to several articles marking the 42 nd anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision on Jan. 22, 1973, that legalized abortion.)
This is the question I believe a person should answer when deciding his or her position on abortion: Is the fetus human or something less than human?
That is, does a fetus, existing in utero, constitute a human life? If our answer to this question is "no," we have very little cause to say

Learn A Lesson From The Fig Tree
Sermon by Rev. John Paul Shea
33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Nov. 15, 2015
Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Tucson, AZ

In today's Gospel (Mark13:24-32), we focus
on the end times and the great cosmic battle. We are reminded that the world we live in today is passing away, and we are to keep our hearts focused on the world that is to come!
After Our Lord describes the dramatic scenes of what will

Anchor Your Soul by Kayode Ijisesan

(Hebrews 6:19 NKJV) " This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil. "

So many Christians let go of their faith very easily because they don't have their souls anchored on the promises of God. They have what I call "loose soul." They don't take time to

Your New Birth by Anyasi U. R

Think for a minute and contemplate what is meant when we talk of the new birth among Christian folks. This concept -if we are hereby allowed to call it so- is one that has to be sat before a thoroughly elucidatory discuss in order for it to be made clearer.
The foregoing exists to usher in this statement; being born again is a purely spiritual exercise while the matter of having a new birth in Christ is

Encourage Yourself in Your God by Anyasi U. R

(4)- then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep. (5) And David's two wives were taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite. (6) And David was greatly distressed, for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his son and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. Dare to Believe by Kayode Ijisesan

(John 11:40 NKJV) "Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"

Everybody desires to see the manifestation of God in their lives. How many people, however, are willing to pay the price involved? Every manifestation of God's glory is as a result of faith in God's ability to do the impossible. God responds to faith, which is the only acceptable way to communicate with Him. He is only pleased by your faith in Him.
Do you desire to see the impossible? All that is required is

The Spirit of Wisdom by Kayode Ijisesan

(Deuteronomy 34:9 NKJV)" Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; so the children of Israel heeded him, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses. "
Wisdom is an anointing of the Spirit of God and it is transferable. Moses was able to transfer this awesome anointing onto Joshua just before he left this world. After this experience, Joshua became

The Three Keys...of GRACE, FAITH and SACRIFICE by David Ogbueli

The devil has been defeated but only employs the instrument of ignorance to operate in the lives of people. Spiritual ignorance, not educational ignorance, is the greatest weapon of the devil.
The New Testament is not a call to obedience, but one to come and celebrate the obedience of Jesus. The key to taming satan and circumstances is

Three Levels of Knowledge (part 2) by David Ogbueli

...CONTINUED FROM LAST POST

Moses' Tabernacle had three levels of light:
1. Outer court: - the illumination here is the sunlight, this symbolizes the natural realm/senses.
2. Holy Place: the illumination here is from the seven lamp-stands, this symbolizes the illumination that comes from the spirit of man ignited by God's spirit.
3. Holy of Holies: the illumination here is the Shekinah glory, this symbolizes knowledge through intimacy with God. The only compares of this kind of communion in our physical world is sex.
This is the experience. When you move into the holy place, away from the

Three Levels of Knowledge by David Ogbueli

THREE LEVELS OF KNOWLEDGE
1. SENSE KNOWLEDGE:
Any human being that has their five senses working can access this first level. Most of the knowledge that form and govern human life, operates at this realm. People that operate in this realm are natural men. If all you can see is with your physical eye, then you are blind. If your ear is the only instrument you have for hearing, then you are really deaf. Discussions are going on now around the world but once you have the right receiver (cable TV, satellite decoder, mobile phone, etc.) you can decode it and give your ear mind-boggling abilities. We live in a world full of limitations.
I have done several intensive studies on men that have shaped the world. Several of them were

Wisdom Purpose by Kayode Ijisesan

(Daniel 1:8 NKJV)"But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. "
Man's ability to make decisions is one of his greatest peculiarities. In fact, God has so much respect for the will of man. A man's will literally drives his life. The soul of a man is comprised of the mind, will and emotions. Man stores and processes information with his mind. He decides his actions with his will and he feels with his emotions.
Will, where the seat of decision lies, plays a major role in a man's

Always Teachable by Kayode Ijisesan

(Proverbs 15:30 NKJV)" The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, And a good report makes the bones healthy.
One of the greatest attributes any man can have is a teachable spirit. God has so much respect for a man with a teachable spirit. Such a man is a candidate

Can One Person Make a Difference? (Part 3) by Paula White

There was a Samaritan woman who was a known adulterer, she was His key to the city. She had been married 5 times, and now had a "situation." Imagine the shock to the religious community of seeing a respected leader of that time strike up a conversation with a woman of such ill repute in broad daylight! I love it because He could care less about their hypocritical, self-righteousness. "That was like unto whited sepulchers, which appear beautiful on the outside, but are within full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness…" (Matthew 23:27).
Adding to the scandal was the fact that the woman drew

Can One Person Make a Difference? (Part 2) by Paula White

Jesus sets the pattern of personal evangelism & building the Kingdom of God for us to follow. For over 2000 years, people have debated on the integrity, identity and legacy of Him, however; there is 1 thing that stands out in all the gospels of HIS life – Jesus was a friend of sinners. They liked being around Him. They were comfortable with

Can One Person Make a Difference? (Part 1) by Paula White

Have you ever been to an incredible Dinner Party? One that was more than just pleasurable… but it was purposeful? Maybe where you met someone that changed your life?... or defined a moment of your destiny? I've had a few of those in my life.

His Name is Wonderful by David Oyedepo

Bible verse: Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
Every child of God is born to be a wonder to the world. According to John 3:8, everyone born of the spirit is born a living wonder. Mark 16:17-18 says" And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
By divine ordination, every child of God is

Live Unto God by Chris Oyakhilome

"And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again"(2 Corinthians 5:15).
When you come to Christ, you stop living for yourself and you start living for Him because you've been bought with a price. If you truly believe that Jesus died to save you, then you must continuously live your life for

The Anointing of God by Anyasi U.R

Text: Lev.8:10-12
(10) And Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them. (11) And he sprinkled thereof upon the alter seven times, and anointed the alter and all his vessels, both the laver and its foot,  to sanctify them. (12) And he poured the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.
The anointing in Hebrew terms means to pour oil over something or someone. This when done in the name of God has a spiritual effect as we see in our opening text and in several instances in the Old Testament of the Bible as we shall see in the course of the sermon. This effect is the hand
